On this day of January 26th, 1964, 5:36 Sunday morning, weighing 6lbs 7oz, with black hair, brown eyes, of Chinese race at United Hospital in Port Chester, NY, a boy Todd Ernest Lim was born. (In German that might translate as “dead honest man”)Born an Aquarius in the age of Aquarius. AQUARIUS (Jan 20 – Feb 18) Taken from last week’s horoscope, these are not my words, nor are the subject matters or the materials I choose for my artwork. They become my ideal, that which I adopt my ideas from and recycle, from common sense and courtesy. So as not to take life for granted, but to appreciate what went before me, what I have, and what I seek to discover. In doing so, to strive for perfection knowing it is abstract and unattainable, as memories are, as loss is. But to do my best and fail and keep doing what I can, with what I have, where I am. To serve as a catalyst of remembrances past with the present. To turn meaningless to meaning, and useless to useful. Not to be ahead of the times, but to turn time on its head. |
