Audra Weaser

Overview

Audra Weaser (b. 1967) is best known for her large-scale abstract paintings which represent the changing effects of light in the natural world - from ripples on water to shafts glimpsed through a forest of trees.

The artist’s process begins by applying layers of paint around a loose composition. The composition is refined and then obscured again with a veil of white. The final step is to sand through the layers of paint, a physically intense process that achieves a sense of depth.

Audra holds a Master’s in Fine Arts from Claremont Graduate University. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Her paintings have been exhibited extensively and reside in private and public collections throughout the world—from New York and San Francisco to Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore.
