Ellen Levine Dodd grew up near Boston in the  small New England beach town of Winthrop. She has been doing artwork all her life.

Dodd studied painting, photography and paper making at Clark University, and Massachusetts College of Art, and graduated from Sonoma State University in California. She paints from her studio in Downtown Novato painting, printing, and teaching  workshops.
