Dale May

Dale May grew up in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and later moved in Manhattan where he pursued a formal fine arts education in photography at Parsons. He is an award-winning advertising, entertainment, and editorial photographer, who has been creating iconic images for over twenty years.

May is recognized for his richly stylized, character-driven, conceptual approach to photography, which has involved capturing celebrities including Daniel Day-Lewis, Charlize Theron, Benedict Cumberbatch, Daniel Radcliffe, Elizabeth Banks, Jared Leto, Amy Poehler, and Christina Aguilera, to name a few. His personal interest in music and performance has also driven his work within the realm of entertainment. He has photographed the Broadway casts of West Side Story, 9 to 5, Hairspray, and Annie. His work is informed by his diverse interests, which encompass popular culture, entertainment media, science fiction, and story-telling.
