Held in Orbit explores the tension between movement and stillness. Thin ribbons of oak and walnut sweep around one another in expanding and contracting paths, creating the impression of a form that is continuously moving despite being fixed in place.

The two woods act as separate voices. The lighter oak moves in and out of the darker walnut, sometimes following its path and sometimes breaking away from it. Their differences remain visible, yet together they create a single composition.

There is no clear beginning or end. The lines circle, overlap, separate, and return, suggesting the invisible forces that keep people, memories, and experiences connected over time. The open spaces are as important as the wood itself, allowing the sculpture to feel light and unresolved rather than contained.

Held in Orbit captures a moment of balance: individual paths moving independently while still being drawn toward one another.
